FirstPoint Alum Help Brown University to National Collegiate Rugby Championship Success

2 min read

Congratulations to Brown University men's rugby on their thrilling victory in the National Collegiate DI Championship!

We were delighted to see two FirstPoint alumni, stand-off Isaac Frost and hooker Joe Al-Hasso, play key roles in their success. The Bears, who also claimed the Ivy League Sports Conference title earlier in the season, triumphed over Queens University of Charlotte in a hard-fought final in Houston, winning by 23-20.

FirstPoint was also represented in the Queen' side, with senior Chester Stanyon starring at number 8 and freshman CJ Thompson coming off the bench as hooker.

This marks Brown University's second national collegiate rugby championship win in three years – a testament to their continued excellence on and off the field. Hooker Al-Hasso, Brown’s vice-captain, had also played in the winning team in 2022 while stand-off Frost enjoyed four successful years at Siena College where he captained the side to the Small Colleges title in 2021, before moving to Brown to do a Masters.
