Beach Volleyball Scholarships

In 2011, the NCAA officially named beach volleyball an emerging sport at the Division 1 and Division 2 level. In the following years, college beach volleyball gained traction across the U.S. and around the world. Now, there are more than 1,410 college beach volleyball players at schools from Oregon to Florida. And each year, more colleges are adding a beach volleyball program, creating more opportunities for college-bound student-athletes.

While the sport is gaining momentum, recruiting is extremely competitive. College coaches search for elite athletes with multiple years of beach club experience. For the top D1 programs, the requirements are even more stringent, and it becomes tougher to stand out from the crowd, making it imperative to ace your recruiting process.

I am so grateful for the life changing experience and opportunities that have been available to me as an NCAA DI student athlete. None of which would have been possible without the expertise and knowledge of the staff at FirstPoint USA.

My son has started his USA rugby scholarship journey. In a very short space of time he’s had his first offer of interest. FirstPoint USA have been excellent - no waffle, straight talking about the reality of what happens and quick to respond to our queries.

NCAA

From its humble beginnings as “Sand Volleyball”, an NCAA emerging sport, Beach Volleyball is now the fastest growing NCAA and NAIA Intercollegiate sport. There are 88 Beach Volleyball programs available at 4-year colleges. This number is expected to increase exponentially over the next few years. Beach Volleyball is also the fastest growing, high school female sport, in the USA.

The NCAA offers 6 scholarships per team at the D1 level and 5 at D2. These are equivalency scholarships which means that the Beach Volleyball coach can divide the scholarships between a larger number of athletes. NOTE: If a college does not offer Indoor Women’s Volleyball as a sport then the scholarship limit for Beach Volleyball increases to 8.
